MMO’s aren’t really known for their music – but some of the themes from World of Warcraft’s music composer Jason Hayes has incredibly memorable themes, epic in scope and truly beautiful. While I have a love hate relationship with MMORPGs (WoW in particular) I can not deny the music as superb.

You see lots of performance videos, but I can never find a ton of behind the scenes and practice stuff. So this practice session of the Legend of Zelda and Castlevania themes was a pretty cool find.

Final Fantasy VII. One of the most (it is sometimes argued to be the most) influential Final Fantasy’s of all time. The score was thrilling, grand, and really stayed with you for years and years. There’s no way you can listen to this without remembering the first time you put in Final Fantasy VII, wondering if all of the hype and promise was true. Once you got into it, it was unmistakble – Final Fantasy VII was a masterpiece.

Can anyone really deny the haunting and beauty that is the To Zanarkand melody (FF X)? A sweeping ballad to capture anyone’s heart and mind, and one that truly did help to cement FF X into the minds of millions.

This is a beautiful rendition of Not Alone from FF IX. I especially enjoyed the trumpet solo around the 2:20 mark. This song is certainly uplifting, beautiful, and enchanting. FF IX might not have been one of my favorite FF, but the music certainly made an impression on me.
